Then and Now layout

We celebrated our 20th Anniversary in August and I decided that I wanted to do a layout for it as I rarely scrap myself (I know, I know..)  Sadly for the last 2 years in August,  I haven't been in the same postal code as Dion for our anniversary.  Both times, I was dealing with the loss of my father last year and my mother this year so anniversary took a back burner.  This was my way of remembering our special day and what a great husband he really is!

Once the page was done, I submitted it to Joanne at Scrapbookers Bliss and she wanted me to teach a class for the layout.  Well after some delay that is happening!  I will be teaching it twice; tomorrow evening and again on Wednesday Nov 30th.   This is my first experience in teaching for the store so I really looking forward to it and would love to see some familiar faces around the tables!  Call Joanne at the store if you are interested in attending it.

I am also doing another class in December that is a home decor item.  It is a Christmas Tag tray that you hand in your home and the tags can be seasonally changed out as desired!  I hope to start a rotating collection of the tags for mine at home!  Again, if you are interested in taking the class, please contact Joanne at Scrapbookers Bliss http://scrapbookersbliss.blogspot.com/

I really have to make a point of updating more often!  We will see how I do!  Till then, hope to see you all soon

Kate's Baby Shower

Okay, I know it has been forever seen I blogged but I have found the perfect reason today to share with you!  One of my best friends just had a baby girl 10 days ago and we decided it was over due for a baby shower.  So Donna Marie, Christine and I hosted a shower with all the proper girly pink decor to go along with it.  Michelle, the Mom is not much of a crafty person and here she is with three of the most over the top crafters as friends!  We had a great time preparing and coming up with ideas.  We worked well as a team, the creator, the perfectionist and the worker bee!!  I will let you figure out who is who!!.  Our new baby Kate is absolutely perfect and was the perfect princess all through the shower.  Thank you to everyone that came and shared in our great pink adventure.  Only one question is left, who is having the next baby because we loved doing it!

Here are some pictures to share.

Spring in Sicamous

We spent the Mothers Day weekend at the lake house in Sicamous just the three of us as the rest of the family was off touring in all parts of the world.  It was kind of nice having the place to ourselves before the busy summer starts.  It was definately spring out there as the grass was green and being cut for the second time and the plants and flowers were out.  It rained a bit on Saturday so we took a drive to Vernon and Kelowna to see the spring blossoms on the cherry trees.  I had never seen them in bloom before and Dion oftern talks about them from when he was growing up in Kelowna how beautiful they were.  I guess it was my Mothers Day gift to do what I wanted to do.  It looks like we were about a week to early as most of the orchards were just coming to blossom and most we apple tree (I think).  Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Magnolia tree in Kelowna smelled unbelievable and was amazing to look at!!

slowly starting to look like someone might live here!

backyard nice and green

saw this handsome one on the way home.  He was stopping traffic but was too hungry to care

a little worried for him as we saw a train heading his way shortly after this!

I just got these ones posted and we are off again tonight for the long weekend.  Let the summer begin!!!

Sicamous House

We took possession of our new lake house in Sicamous this past weekend with Sharleen and Dan and hauled 2 trailers of furniture and stuff out on Friday.  My neice and her boyfriend came as well to help with the loading and cleaning for the weekend.  We pulled up to the house and were happy to see very little snow and signs that spring really is coming as the plants are poking out of the ground.  This was while Calgary was under a major snowstorm that left us with 9" or so of heavy wet snow!

We started to put furniture together and  started cleaning right away but Cierra's bunkbeds did not make it together Friday night.  She was a little worried about this so Kali and Jared decided to help her build a fort in her room to distract and entertain her.  We spent how much on a house and all she really wanted was a cardboard shack decorated on the outside of course!

Then the engineers and architectural controls kicked in!!!  Of course it had to fit around her mattress and be structurally sound!

And this is where she slept the first night.  Saturday morning the bunkbeds went together and life was great!  She loves her room and her bed and cannot wait to have friends come and sleep in her beds!!

We did make some time to get out  and enjoy the lovely spring day on Sunday!

So that is what our first weekend at the lake looked like!!!  I also want to wish my big sister Sharleen and her husband Dan a very happy 25th anniversay today as well.
